Summary of the subject: The content of the discipline "Social Communications in Architecture and Urban Space", which is offered to students and teachers of higher educational institutions of III and IV levels of accreditation of basic areas "Architecture and Urban Planning", allows to master modern methodological and theoretical tools for understanding social communications in the city. space and substantiation of optimal architectural design solutions. The discipline is designed to train a modern highly qualified specialist in the field of architecture. The discipline in a logical sequence outlines the basic concepts and methods of analysis of spatial situations, problems and inconsistencies in the interaction of society and space, modern approaches to justification of design decisions. The course is aimed at systematic justification of design architectural solutions. The content consistently reveals the basic themes of the discipline. All lectures and practical classes are logically interconnected. Many issues considered in the discipline are insufficiently covered in modern educational literature. In particular, this applies to new methods of analysis of social and communication projections in the city. Considerable attention is paid to the categorical and conceptual basis of the discipline. The scheme of teaching the material is followed, which allows to build the study of the subject in increasing complexity. All statements are accompanied by illustrative examples. Practical tasks allow to better understand the methodology of socio-spatial approach in the design of architectural and urban planning objects, to realize the importance of using theoretical knowledge and a systematic approach in design practice. This will significantly contribute to the formation of professional qualities of students and their use in professional activities. The discipline combines the coverage of theoretical material with the diversity of its practical application. This makes the discipline relevant for the practical activities of the architect.
Assessment methods and criteria: During the classes there is a test of independent work on schedule, which allows you to get 10 points of current control. At the end of the semester there is a control of theoretical knowledge, which is estimated at 20 points, as well as a presentation of the individual task, for which the student has the opportunity to receive 70 points.
