Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline is to prepare specialists for the active use of knowledge and skills in general biology and microbiology in the process of mastering special technologies for the restoration of architectural monuments.
Завдання: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must demonstrate the following learning outcomes: know the structure of pro- and eukaryotic cells, morphological, cultural, physiological and biochemical features of microorganisms; their distribution in nature, to know the main characteristics of other living objects and methods of combating them in the process of professional activity. The study of discipline involves the formation of competencies in students of education: Integral competence (INT) The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of fine arts, decorative arts, restoration of works of art or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain theories, provisions and methods and the possession of skills necessary to solve the tasks of the specialty . General competences: GC 2. The ability to preserve and multiply cultural, artistic, ecological, moral, scientific values and achievements of society based on an understanding of the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society, to use various types and forms of motor activity for active recreation and healthy lifestyle. GC 6. The ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. GC 8. The ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. Professional competences: PC 4. The ability to master various techniques and technologies of work in relevant materials according to specializations. PC 8. The ability to analyze and systematize the collected information, diagnose the state of preservation of the material structure of the work of art, and formulate the ultimate goal of the restoration intervention. PC 9. The ability to use professional knowledge in practical and artistic activities.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: Know: biological objects capable of causing damage to various materials and works of art; the main causes of biological damage, methods of their prevention and elimination. Be able to: use a light-field microscope, make fixed stained preparations of bacteria, work with pure cultures of bacteria, yeast, mold fungi, and identify representatives of different groups of microorganisms by microscopy methods. Perform chemical and technical-mechanical research and apply relevant research skills in restoration.
Required prior and related subjects: Special chemistry Physical and colloid chemistry; basics of archeology
Summary of the subject: The course is devoted to consideration of the causes of biodamage of materials and architectural monuments, which are carried out by living organisms of various taxonomic groups. These include microorganisms, insects, birds, rodents, mosses, lichens, representatives of aquatic biocenoses. Special attention is paid to the morphological and physiological features of bacteria and mold fungi, as they play a major role in the deterioration of such materials as stone, polymers, fabrics, leather, etc. The "Special Biology" course involves conducting laboratory classes for better assimilation of the lecture material.
Опис: Place of microorganisms in the system of live, there structure and chemical composition, nutrition, cultivation methods, the influence of environmental factors. A variety of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, there modern taxonomy, distribution in nature, role as biodestructors. Insects, birds and mammals as a source of biodeterioration. Water biocenoses. Biocides - protection from biodeterioration.
Assessment methods and criteria: Theoretical and laboratory classes are conducted in study groups. Current (CC) and semester (SC) controls are used to assess students' knowledge. Current control is carried out using a rating system for evaluating the success of students' studies for each completed topic of the program. Forms of control: current control (40 points) in the form of a survey in laboratory classes, control work; semester control (60 points) - credit. A total account is 100 points per discipline.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (40 points): written reports on laboratory work and oral survey (20 points); intermediate control work (20 points). Semester control (60 points): assessment in written form. A total account is 100 points per discipline.
