Learning outcomes: - knowledge of the concept of construction and management of third and fourth generation telecommunication systems and networks, functional and spatial architecture of second and third generation telecommunication systems and networks. - knowledge of signal transmission technologies and protocols in telecommunication systems and networks (in particular, classification of modern methods of modulation, channel separation and organization of duplex communication) and communication organization schemes in telecommunication systems according to basic technologies. - knowledge of the concept of implementation of next-generation telecommunication systems and networks. - the ability to use the acquired knowledge about the architecture, principles of construction and operation of telecommunication systems and networks to build plans for the coverage of telecommunication networks. - ability to apply acquired knowledge about modulation types, technologies and transmission protocols in telecommunication systems and networks to develop frequency plans.
Required prior and related subjects: Basics of the theory of electric circuits. Signals in information systems. Analog circuitry.
Summary of the subject: Information transmission systems. General characteristics. Radio lines and information transmission systems with radio channels. Digital information transmission systems. General characteristics. Classification of codes. Digital modulation. Methods of channel separation and multiple access. Expanding code sequences. Digital signal processing. GSM standard systems. Composition, equipment and functioning of the CDMA system. GSM standard systems. CDMA standard systems. Mobile systems of the third generation.
Assessment methods and criteria: - current control: written reports on completed project tasks (30%); - final control: control measure (exam) written and oral form (70%).
