Learning outcomes: • know principles of construction and ways of developing of transport networks; • know technologies of transport telecommunication networks; • know functions of network elements in transport networks construction; • be able to carry out communication organization projects of different topologies and architecture, based on SDH equipment and optical fibers; • be able to make an objective assessment of signal transmission quality.
Required prior and related subjects: • Theory of Electrical Communication; • Infocommunication Networks; • Directed Systems of Electrical and Optical Communication.
Summary of the subject: Generalized Plan of Transport Telecommunication Network. Models of Optical Transport Networks. Multiplexing and Transmitting Technologies in Transport Networks. Network Elements of Optical Transport Networks. Synchronization in Transport Networks. Architecture of Transport Networks. Management in Transport Networks.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: individual work (40%); • Summary control: control examination in written-oral form (60%).
