Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: 1. A trained specialist should know: - the main types of information and measurement systems; - basic characteristics of information and measurement systems; - basic requirements for information and measurement systems; - main system components; - principles of channel separation of information and measurement systems; - causes of errors in telemetry and possible ways to reduce them; - basics of error analysis of information and measurement systems; - principles of construction of modern information and measurement systems of avionics. 2. A trained specialist must be able to: - to compose a system for a specific purpose; - calculate the necessary technical characteristics of the system; - compare the technical characteristics of the designed and conventional cyclic systems; - analyze system errors; - to be able to choose specific component systems; - synthesize the functional and principle scheme of the system.
Required prior and related subjects: Informatics in avionics. Metrology and standardization. Design of avionics equipment and systems. Systems and means of radio communication in aviation. Telemetric information systems.
Summary of the subject: In this educational discipline, the classification of measuring equipment is considered and, depending on the performed functions of information and measurement systems, the principles of building a measuring system, an automatic control system, and a technical diagnostic system are given. The main attention in this discipline is paid to telemetry. Therefore, the purposes and tasks of radio telemetry, the structural diagram of aircraft, the main characteristics and general requirements and information about errors and their causes are considered. Classification of radio telemetry systems according to channel separation methods, features of modern construction and principles of construction of systems with time, frequency and code separation of channels are given. A selection of the main parameters and their advantages and disadvantages is also given. A comparison of systems with code, time and frequency division of channels and the principles of building adaptive radio telemetry systems are also presented.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current monitoring of students' learning results is carried out in laboratory classes by checking the performance of individual tasks. Semester control is carried out by checking individual written works completed according to the semester control schedule.
