Learning outcomes: • Have an idea of the general state of development of modern information display devices; • know the working substances, design, principle of operation of information display devices; • apply knowledge of the technical characteristics of information display devices for their correct choice depending on the needs of use; • be able to measure the main characteristics of displays.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Physical foundations of electronic technology, materials of electronic technology. Co-requisites: Functional electronics, Physical foundations of electronic technology.
Summary of the subject: General information about displays. Liquid crystal displays. OLED displays. Plasma displays. Field emission displays. Electrochrome displays. Electronic paper. TFT displays. Displays on quantum dots.
Assessment methods and criteria: written reports on laboratory work, oral examination, reference work (30%) final control (70%, exam), written-oral form (70%)
