Learning outcomes: • Know the basic principles of the theory of analysis and synthesis of optical information conversion systems; • know the methods of designing means of presentation and processing of information, design, basic characteristics, parameters and operational features of means of displaying information; • have the basic methods of calculation, research of characteristics and parameters of means of presentation and processing of information, technology of their production; • know the physical principles that underlie the operation of various indicator devices. • develop the design and technological process of manufacturing information display devices for various electrostatic effects; • design fiber-optic communication lines according to specified characteristics; • calculate the design parameters of indicator devices to achieve the required characteristics.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Technological bases of electronics. Physical foundations of electronic technology. Co-requisites: Expert systems. Materials and structures of nanoelectronics.
Summary of the subject: Mathematical bases of analysis and synthesis of coherent optical information transformation systems. Basic principles of formation and perception of information models. The concept of signal sampling. The concept of information coding. Methods of registration, presentation and storage of color information. Graphic image encoding. Audio signal processing. Encoding video signals. Display devices and their areas of application. Fiber-optic information transmission systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: • laboratory classes, oral questioning (30%) • final control: written / oral form (70%)
