Learning outcomes: 1. Assimilate theoretical material on the production and study of vacuum, methods of forming and joining materials; 2. Know the principle of operation and scope of vacuum measuring instruments and its production; 3. Know the basic principles of technological hygiene of modern electronic production; 4. Know the basic technological processes of production of semiconductor devices and integrated circuits, as well as related electronic products; 5. Be able to correctly choose the methods of technological processing in the manufacturing process of a particular device; 6. Be able to choose the necessary technological equipment.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Physics. Electronic technology. Co-requisites: Electronic materials. Physical foundations of electronic technology.
Summary of the subject: Basic theory of crystals structure and crystals growth, physics and technology of vacuum. Fundamentals of physics of vacuum. Methods of obtaining, cleaning, doping of monocrystalline and semiconductor materials. The technology of semiconductor and dielectric substrates. Physico-chemical methods of surface treatment of semiconductor substrates. Diffusion in semiconductors. The technology of epitaxial layers, ionic implantation.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: control, laboratory and practical work, performance of individual research tasks (30%). Final control: exam (70%).
