Learning outcomes: - understand the features of the structure of laser systems; - to know the physical basics of the laser and the possibility of their practical use in biomedicine; - know the basic safety requirements when working with laser radiation; - understand the mechanisms of interaction of concentrated photon fluxes and laser radiation with living tissue; - know modern means of optoelectronic laser equipment to use it in medical diagnostic and therapeutic technologies; - choose and substantiate the method of laser influence to achieve a diagnostic or therapeutic effect; - know how to construct specialized laser medical systems; - know how to substantiate the modes of laser processing; - know how to operate laser medical equipment.

Summary of the subject: The purpose of the discipline "Laser Biomedical Technologies" is to familiarize students with laser technologies and laser systems in the biomedical field, to review the properties of laser technology materials, to familiarize with the basic designs of laser systems and the principles of their construction.
Assessment methods and criteria: Semester control: laboratory reports, oral interviewing, written tests – 40 points (40 %). Final control: control procedure - written and verbal examination – 60 points (60 %).
