Credits: 6.00
Department: Information Systems and Networks
Lecturer: Ph.d. T.M. Basyuk,
Business Analyst, Business Analysis Lab Head of EPAM SYSTEMS, K.A. Motko.
Semester: 4 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies:
integral: The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems of system analysis in professional activity or in the learning process, which involve the application of theoretical provisions and methods of system analysis and information technologies and are characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions
general:
K01. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis.
K02. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations.
K04. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity.
K09. Ability to adapt and act in a new situation.
special (professional, subject) competences:
K19. The ability to build mathematically correct models of static and dynamic processes and systems with concentrated and distributed parameters, taking into account the uncertainty of external and internal factors.
K20. The ability to determine the main factors that influence the development of physical, economic, and social processes, to single out stochastic and uncertain indicators in them, to formulate them in the form of random or vague quantities, vectors, processes, and to investigate the dependencies between them.
Learning outcomes: PR06. To know and be able to apply the basic methods of posing and solving problems of system analysis in conditions of uncertainty of goals, external conditions and conflicts.
PR09. To be able to create effective algorithms for computational tasks of system analysis and decision support systems.
PR12. Apply methods and means of working with data and knowledge, methods of mathematical, logical-semantic, object and simulation modeling, technologies of system and statistical analysis
Required prior and related subjects: Object-oriented programming
Information systems design
Summary of the subject: The knowledge gained in the process of studying this discipline consists in revealing concepts and methods of system analysis, creating information systems based on information received from experts. The theoretical foundations of the concept of "system" are explained and its categorical description is provided; the basic concepts and methodologies of system analysis are considered and the methods and means of computer modeling are described; classical approaches and system methodologies are studied.

Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control (40%): written reports on laboratory work, essay, oral examination;
• Final control (60% of exam): in written, verbally.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Assessment of the knowledge of students is based on the performance of tasks within laboratory classes (current control) and the performance of examination control.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
