Learning outcomes: As a result of studying this discipline the student will gain basic knowledge in the field of restoration of architectural monuments and urban planning, necessary for the development of professionally oriented disciplines, gain competence in developing a methodology of complex research, research and approaches to architectural design of individual monuments. ensembles and complexes, historical and architectural environment of settlements, will understand and be able to use modern trends in the field of protection of architectural and urban heritage. During the study of this discipline the student will acquire the following competencies: General: - Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis; - Ability to use information and communication technologies; - Ability to conduct research at the appropriate level; - Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. Professional: - Ability to understand the basic scientific and theoretical principles of the humanities, socio-economic and historical sciences, the ability to critically comprehend and apply research methods based on mathematical and natural sciences, computer science and computer modeling - Knowledge and scientific-theoretical understanding of the peculiarities of the development of historical and modern styles in art, architecture, urban planning and design of Ukraine and foreign countries, the evolution of architecture, arts, design, synthesis of art and architecture; - Knowledge and understanding of the peculiarities of production, use of modern building materials and technologies in making innovative design decisions for the exteriors and interiors of buildings and structures, in the reconstruction and restoration of historical and modern monuments of architecture and urban planning. - Ability to collect, collect and use information on legislative documents, state building codes and regulations in the field of architecture, urban planning, reconstruction and restoration works. - Possession of means of project modeling, execution of technical images by methods and techniques of artistic and computer graphics for use in scientific and theoretical research, architectural design and landscape design, in projects of reconstruction and restoration of architectural monuments.

Summary of the subject: The study of the subject involves acquainting students with the scientific approach to work on historical architectural and urban planning objects, mastering the methods of complex research of architectural and urban planning objects. This course provides requirements for the search, analysis and systematization of information from various sources, develops the ability to make informed decisions and solve problems. The method of formation of programs of restoration and restoration works, execution of scientific and design documentation for architectural and town-planning activity in the historical environment is also given.
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment of students' knowledge is based on the results of current control, the work of students during lectures and practical classes, development and defense of the Report on the study of architectural or urban monuments.
