Summary of the subject: The "Multimedia Design" course is designed for one semester of study and includes theoretical and practical parts, as well as independent work. The theoretical part of the course covers materials that highlight the key principles of multimedia design in the context of the issues and tasks of communicative design and object-spatial environment design, the theory of the formation of an interactive information space based on images, texts and infographic data, sound, video and visual effects. Today, multimedia technologies form a promising and popular direction of communicative design, which is based on the simultaneous use of various means of presenting information. The course involves studying a set of techniques, methods and ways of collecting, accumulating, processing, storing, transmitting and producing audiovisual, textual, graphic information in conditions of interactive interaction of the user with the information system. In the practical part of the course, methods and approaches to the use of graphic and typographical culture and computer technologies in design and planning are given; manifestation of functional features of the audio-visual series and methods of their presentation and compression; searching for an idea, forming a project proposal, working on a multimedia design object. Examples of multimedia presentations, applications, websites, games and other products that present information through a combination of different means of presentation, technology and figurative language are considered. Programs necessary for working with text, video, images and sound are studied. In the practical part of the course, methods and approaches to the use of font culture and computer technologies in design are set; revealing the functional features of the font, finding an idea, forming a sketch proposal, working on an original layout.

Assessment methods and criteria: Determining the level of students' knowledge is carried out by the following control methods: survey (final), testing (current and final), control of the student's independent work. The assessment is a mandatory final form of control that allows you to assess the systematic assimilation of educational material from "Multimedia Design" and cannot be reduced to the level of current forms of control.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, a student can score up to 40 points (15 points – current control, 25 – for the performance of an individual research task). The maximum score is 60 points. To be admitted to the credit, a student must score at least 25 points based on the results of the current control. The semester grade is formed from the sum of the scored points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
