Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the educational discipline "Main trends in the development of modern design" is to study the theoretical and practical aspects of the development of modern design culture, which affect the processes of form formation and functioning of design in various systems of the subject-spatial and media environment. Studying the course provides students with an understanding of the phenomena and processes occurring in design over the past three decades; forms an idea of the activities of key design studios and personalities in various areas of design activity.
Завдання: Integral competence - The ability to solve complex tasks and problems in the field of design or in the learning process, which involves conducting research and/or implementing innovations and is characterized by the uncertainty of conditions and requirements. General competences (CG): ZK 2. The ability to identify, pose and solve problems. ZK 4. Ability to work in an international context. ZK 6. The ability to act socially responsibly and consciously. Special competences (CS): CS 1. Ability to carry out conceptual design of design objects taking into account functional, technical, technological, environmental and aesthetic requirements (by specialization). CS 2. Ability to carry out project analysis of all influential factors and design components and formation of the author's concept of the project. CS 3. The ability to understand and use cause-and-effect relationships in the development of design and modern arts. CS 5. Possession of theoretical and methodical principles of training and integrated approaches to the professional training of designers; planning one's own scientific and pedagogical activities. CS 9. Ability to create a design product (goods and services) in demand on the market and socially responsible. CS 10. The ability to convincingly demonstrate to the consumer the attractive cultural value and economic value of the created creative product.
Learning outcomes: The purpose of the educational discipline "Main trends in the development of modern design" is to study the theoretical and practical aspects of the development of modern design culture, which affect the processes of form formation and functioning of design in various systems of the subject-spatial and media environment. Studying the course provides students with an understanding of the phenomena and processes occurring in design over the past three decades; forms an idea of the activities of key design studios and personalities in various areas of design activity. As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: 1. Understand the purpose and place of the course "Main trends in the development of modern design" in the general system of professional training of a designer; 2. Know the main paradigms of the development of modern design culture and understand the theoretical and practical aspects of design in various areas of design activity; 3. To understand the essence of globalization as a form of cultural interaction in the modern development of design and to understand the role of tradition as a stylistic category in modern design. 4. Understand the essence of the concept of sustainable development in modern design practice; 5. To be able to analyze works of modern design in the context of future design, eco-design, performative design; critical design; synthesis of technology and craft. 6. To be able to solve various design problems, to think innovatively and to work creatively with the justification of the artistic and constructive background PRN 7. Critically interpret theories, principles, methods and concepts from various subject areas to solve tasks and problems in the field of design, be able to creatively combine them to solve one's own creative problem. in projects of communicative, subject-environmental and multimedia design. PRN 1. To generate ideas for the development of creative design proposals, to build a high-quality and extensive communication system, to apply the world's leading concepts of visual communication in the artistic and cultural spheres. PRN 2. Develop a scientifically based concept for solving a professional problem, be able to present it and convincingly defend it. PRN 9. Apply modern methods of conceptual design and carry out the design process taking into account modern technologies and constructive solutions, as well as functional and aesthetic requirements for the design object. PRN 11. Determine the aesthetic problems of design schools and directions, taking into account the genesis of the modern artistic process in design; have a synthetic idea about the history of the formation of modern visual culture. PRN 13. Choose optimal methods of teaching the material to the student audience within the limits of professional competencies; to be able to program, organize and implement educational and methodological support of professional disciplines. PRN 17. Manage the process of production of design products (goods and services) at various stages of branding and rebranding (by specialization).

Summary of the subject: The course "Main trends in the development of modern design" is designed for one semester of study, covers a total of 90 hours and structurally includes lectures, practical classes and independent work. In the theoretical part of the course, the philosophical and cultural aspect of design is highlighted, the main trends in the development of design from the 1990s to the present day are determined. The course is focused on an overview of the most relevant areas, phenomena and events in modern design. Students gain an understanding of modern design; future design is considered as a direction of project philosophy; problems of globalization and localization in design; synthesis of technologies and craft production; environmental trends of modern design culture, as well as the current state and prospects for the development of collection design in various areas. The discipline forms a holistic view of the development of modern design, concepts and innovations in various areas of design; provides an understanding of the development of the material and technical base and project tools. Various scenarios of the development of design culture, utilitarian and performative concepts are considered, specific phenomena of design practice in the communicative, subject-spatial and digital environment are analyzed. In the practical part of the course, the problems of analysis and definition of the concept of a specific phenomenon of modern design, and the formation of design-development on the basis of this phenomenon on a given topic are set.

Assessment methods and criteria: Determining the level of students' knowledge is carried out by the following control methods: survey (final), testing (current and final), control of the student's independent work. The exam is a mandatory final form of control that allows you to assess the systematic learning of the educational material "Main trends in the development of modern design" and cannot be reduced to the level of current forms of control.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, a student can earn up to 40 points (20 points - current testing in the National Academy of Sciences, 20 - for completing an individual task in practical classes). The maximum score for the exam is 60 points. To be admitted to the exam, a student must score at least 25 points based on the results of the current control. The sum of points makes up the semester grade.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.

Summary of the subject: The course "The main trends in the development of modern design" (course project) is designed for one semester of study, in general, covers 90 hours and structurally includes practical classes (30 hours), and independent work. Discipline forms a holistic idea of the development of modern design, concepts and innovations in various spheres of design; gives an understanding of the development of the material and technical base and design tools. Different scenarios of development of design culture, utilitarian and performative concepts are considered, specific phenomena of design practices in communicative, subject-spatial and digital environment are analyzed. In the practical part of the course, the problem of forming a conception of specific design development in the field of subject-spatial design or design of visual communications with presentation video support, with the possibility of its further presentation as a startup or completed project for a professional competition.
Опис: TOPIC 1. Innovative space of modern design. An overview of concepts and innovations in subject environment design and visual communication design. New technologies and materials. Prospects of project activity in various fields. TOPIC 2. Review of the developments of design schools in Europe and Ukraine in recent years. Analysis of the main social requests and technical innovations in the subject-spatial environment and communicative design. TOPIC 3. Modern art market and collection design. Concepts and trends. Directions of work, materials, technologies for creating items of collectible design TOPIC 4. Definition of the author's creative strategy. Analysis of presentations. Discussion of the most interesting developments. Prognostication. TOPIC 5. Work on a course project. Discussion of the purpose, novelty, practical application and final appearance of the product. Review of student works. TOPIC 6. Discussion of ideas for own projects. The method of evaluating the effectiveness of design concepts from the point of view of problem, relevance, functionality, aesthetic value, optimality. Projects are considered from the point of view of scientific, socio-cultural and consumer-production relevance. The problem of the course project is formed by formulating and solving the questions. TOPIC 7. Search for novelty, technical, functional and formal innovations in projects. Analysis of advertising scenarios through video format. TOPIC 8. Concepts of advertising video presentations of modern design studios. Maximum in minimum. Synopsis, script and main message. Possible forms and scenarios of advertising support (video presentation of the project, informative and advertising polygraphy) for your own project. SUBJECT 9. Work on the project. Option a) 3D modeling of the design object (visualizations, dimensions), rendering. Creating a model in the material; Option b) work with the compositional and figurative structure of the publication, illustrative and typographic series, creation of a layout. SUBJECT 10. Formulation of a synopsis and a step-by-step script for the video (topic disclosure plan, main points) in three areas: description of the video sequence, frame outline, audio. Description and recording of ideas, thoughts and processes (photo, video shooting, audio, animation) as a preparatory stage for creating a presentation video.
