Мета вивчення дисципліни: There have been revealed the most important problems from the foundation of the architecture in Ancient times to the Modern Age. There have been considered the most outstanding cultures and monuments of ancient and modern nations.
Завдання: Teach the student to understand the influence of the socio-political and ideological situation prevailing in a certain economic formation on the development of architecture. Study by students of information about the development of construction technology and constructive solutions, as well as the peculiarities of architectural planning and urban planning methods of the main architectural monuments and their complexes, settlements, cities. The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students competencies: general: to study the main and most significant stages of the development of the architecture of the peoples of the world in accordance with the change of social and economic formations. professional: to understand the regularities of the development of function and form, the social role of architecture as a means of material and spiritual organization of society's life.
Learning outcomes: PRN1. Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding of the subject area and sphere of professional activity in practical situations. PRN2 is FREE to communicate in national and foreign languages orally and in writing on professional matters, to form various types of professional documents in accordance with the requirements of the culture of oral and written communication PRN5. Understand and faithfully perform your part of the work in the team; determine the priorities of professional activity. PRN19. Develop and present the results of work in a professional environment, understand the stages of achieving success in a professional career, take into account modern labor market trends, conduct market research, choose an appropriate business model, develop a business plan for professional activity in the field of architecture. KOM1 Communication skills, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish): K0M2. The ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. AIV 1 Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AiV 2 The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired new professional knowledge AiV 3 The ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: There have been revealed the worldview backgrounds of the architectural language formation, social and economic factors and the level of construction engineering that define the nature of the city-planning principles, structure types, their construction features. There were demonstrated the distinctive features of the architecture referring to the basic artistic epochs – despotism, the ancient world and the Modern Age, there have been traced the formation of the style trends and their development in the nations’ history. There have been analyzed the general artistic concepts, as well as composition peculiarities of the separate architectural objects.

The main periods of the cultural history of Egypt: the Ancient, Middle and New Kingdoms. Building materials and equipment. Egyptian residential building. 2. ARCHITECTURE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE MESSENGER AND ANCIENT IRAN. The main stages of the development of artistic and building culture of the Sumerian-Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian periods. Building materials and structures. 3. ARCHITECTURE OF ANCIENT GREECE. Peculiarities of the architecture of the Aegean world and the Cretan maritime state. Palace complex in Knossos. The architecture of the Mycenaean period in the Peloponnese and the outstanding monuments of Mycenae and Tiryns. The role of the Aegean culture in the development of the culture of ancient Greece. 4. ARCHITECTURE OF ANCIENT ROME. Sources of Roman material and artistic culture and their connection with the culture of the Etruscans and Greeks. The main stages of the development of Roman architecture in the early, middle and late periods and their features in the development of artistic and building culture. III. ARCHITECTURE OF THE MIDDLE AGES. 1. ARCHITECTURE OF THE BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Ancient traditions and the influence of the Christian religion on the formation of Byzantine art and architecture. The main stages of the development of Byzantine architecture and its features. 2. ARCHITECTURE OF THE COUNTRIES OF THE ARAB CALIPHATE, THE MUSLIM EAST AND THE COUNTRIES OF EAST ASIA. General characteristics of architectural schools of Muslim architecture, features of their volume-spatial, constructive and artistic solutions. Characteristic types of buildings and outstanding architectural monuments of the Arab 3. MEDIEVAL ARCHITECTURE IN THE COUNTRIES OF WESTERN EUROPE. Romanesque architecture in Western Europe of feudal fragmentation. The main types of buildings: castles and defense construction, housing, monastic complexes. Cult buildings and their volume-spatial and constructive solution. Architectural schools and the originality of monuments of the Romanesque period in different European countries. IV. ARCHITECTURE OF THE NEW TIME XV - BEGINNING. XX CENTURY 1. ARCHITECTURE OF THE RENAISSANCE PERIOD IN ITALY. Sources of the development of Renaissance culture in Italy. Creative interpretation of the ancient and medieval heritage in the culture and architecture of the Renaissance. Proto-Renaissance in Italy. Early Renaissance in Italy. 2. FEATURES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENAISSANCE ARCHITECTURE IN DIFFERENT EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. Conditions for the formation of national schools of Renaissance architecture in France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany and their characteristic features. Renaissance in Slavic countries. 3. ARCHITECTURE OF THE BAROQUE PERIOD IN ITALY Creative stages of the development of the Baroque style in Italy. The search for new ensemble, volume-spatial solutions and expressiveness of architectural forms. Leading architects of the era and their works. 4. ARCHITECTURE OF THE CLASSIC PERIOD The formation of classicism in the leading countries of Europe. Creative search for new ensemble, volume-spatial solutions and expressiveness of architectural forms
Assessment methods and criteria: Determining the level of students' knowledge is carried out by the following control methods: survey (final), testing (current and final), control of the student's independent work. The exam is a mandatory final form of control that allows you to assess the systematic learning of the educational material from the "History of World Architecture".
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, a student can score up to 70 points (current control, thematic test control in the National Security Service, for completing independent tasks, control work). The maximum score for the exam is 30 points. To be admitted to the exam, a student must score at least 25 points based on the results of the current control. The exam in the discipline "History of World Architecture" is conducted in written and oral form (in the form of offline education) or in the form of an examination final test in the National Academy of Sciences (in the case of online education).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
