Summary of the subject: The course "Theory and Methods in Subject Environment Design" is designed for one semester of study and covers 90 hours. and structurally includes two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part of the course the main types and stages of pre-project research are considered, the main stages of project material development are determined. In the practical part of the course the analysis, systematization of research material is carried out. The object of study can be selected: style in interior design, elements of the subject content of the interior, the features of the functional solution. In order to interact with the relevant disciplines, the student is invited to develop methods of pre-project analysis on related course projects. The discipline is based on the themes of theoretical and practical provisions that reveal the basic laws of pre-project research and synthesis of design products. The study of the proposed course requires a creative approach from students, focuses on independent search for strategies to perform analytical tasks, requires them to develop additional literature.
Опис: The work program includes 8 lecture classes. The purpose of lectures is to provide students with knowledge related to the process of researching the pre-project situation, synthesizing and summarizing information, defining the design object, conducting a questionnaire, etc.
Assessment methods and criteria: During the semester, a student can score 40 points for four tasks and 60 points in the examination for passing test questions at the VNS Lviv Polytechnic.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: When evaluating tasks, the completeness, logic, consistency, validity of all provisions of the pre-project study and the ability to: - formulate the relevance, object, subject, purpose and tasks of design and research; - draw up a prospective research plan; - use modern methods of scientific research, modify them based on the tasks of specific research; - conduct a bibliographic search using modern information technologies; - to effectively work with scientific, scientific and technical, art history literature; - process the obtained theoretical data, analyze, compare and synthesize them in the direction of pre-project research; - analyze and process visual materials obtained as a result of preparatory work with analogues during pre-project research on the chosen topic; - to prepare research results in accordance with modern requirements regarding recommendations for writing a scientific paper; - to show the ability to professionally master computer technologies; - present the required amount of text and illustrative material of the pre-project study.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
