Мета вивчення дисципліни: The goal of teaching the discipline is the professional preparation of a designer student for the adequate application of a wide range of modern styles in interior design, as well as the ability to form one's own original stylistics of interiors of various functional purposes.
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of such competencies: INT. The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of design, or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain design theories and methods and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. Professional competences of a professional direction: PC1.1. The ability to conduct pre-project studies and analyze project solution analogues. PC1.2. The ability to develop several options for conceptual solutions of objects of the subject-spatial environment. PC1.3. The ability to develop the design of the environment of object-spatial complexes for buildings and structures.
Learning outcomes: At the end of learning process, students acquiring education have to display the below enlisted program learning outcomes (PLO): LO 1.Understand the significance and meaning of conducting pre-project research and analyzing alternative project solutions; be capable of using the obtained knowledge in project design. LO 2.Apply the comprehensive artistic and project approach in order to create an integral image of object-spatial environment. LO 3. Solve functional problems with respect to properties of materials and constructions; apply innovative technologies to elaborate modern design products. COM1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages; COM2. The ability to use various methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. AaR1. Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AaR2. Ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen acquired new professional knowledge. AaR3. Summary of the subject: The course “Stylistics in interior” is intended for one learning semester and comprises 120 hours. It includes two structural parts, namely theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the course examines characteristic features of different interior styles, methods and means of their formation, algorithm of authentic original source stylization, and conformity of style to building function and its parameters. In the practical part of the course, theoretical material is systematized and consolidated by means of completing two individual graphic tasks. One of the tasks presupposes designing interior in ethnic stylistics, while the second one should follow historical stylistics. Apart from that, the compulsory requirement of the tasks is for one interior to be intended for public usage and the second one should have the functional purpose of a residence. Students voluntarily choose original sources for the subsequent stylization and the order of tasks in which to design residential and public interiors. The discipline is based on the consistent topics of theoretical and practical provisions that highlight the fundamental regularities of style formation in interiors. The task of the course is not merely to outline relevant information about the already existing styles, but to master the methodology of modern interpretation of an authentic stylistic source. The course requires students to reveal creative approach, encourages independent search for non-standard solutions and study of additional bibliographic sources.
Опис: The purpose of lectures is to provide students with knowledge about the styles used in interior design, about the patterns and methods of their formation and application. The content of the lecture material: the concept of style in interior design; historical and cultural prerequisites for the formation of interior design style; ethnic style as an integral trend in modern interior design; ethnic interior design, based on authentic ethnocultural traditions; ethnic interior design based on mythical characteristics of the region's identity; stylistic identity of the environment of individual ethnographic regions of Ukraine and its modern interpretations; visual and symbolic-content characteristics of the residential environment traditional for Ukrainian ethnoculture; interpretation of historical architectural styles in modern interior design; methods and means of preserving the identity of classical styles in a modern interior; natural and ecological trend in interior design; avant-garde stylistics in the interior: means of formation and features of application; innovative approaches in interior design of the first half of the 20th century, their modern interpretation; popular styles of the 20th century, relevant for modern interiors; author's style in interior design. The purpose of practical classes is to consolidate and deepen the acquired knowledge by applying it in the process of performing individual research tasks: 1) "Interior design in ethnic style", 2) "Interpretation of historical style in interior design".
Assessment methods and criteria: The assessment of students’ knowledge level is performed by means of the following methods: ongoing monitoring of work during practical classes, evaluation of each graphic task, exam (completion of test control in virtual learning environment of Lviv Polytechnic National University). During semester, students can receive 40 points for completion of graphic tasks and 60 points for exam control completed in virtual learning environment of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The sum of grades received by students for the completion of the specified academic activities constitutes the final semester grade.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, a student can score 40 points for completing graphic tasks (maximum 20 points for each task), and 60 points for examination control for passing test questions at the VNS of Lviv Polytechnic. The sum of grades received by the student for the specified types of completed academic work constitutes the final semester grade - a maximum of 100 points. When evaluating tasks, the completeness of the completed task, the authenticity of the analyzed primary sources, the validity and originality of the concept of the design solution, and the compliance of the implementation with the tasks are taken into account.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied, in their relationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
