Мета вивчення дисципліни: The aim of the discipline is to provide students with knowledge, understanding and competencies in the use of catalysis in industry, methods of preparation and use of the most important and modern catalysts, to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge of the basics of catalytic processes of organic synthesis
Завдання: The study of the discipline involves the development of competencies in students: professional competencies: - ability to research, classify and analyze the quality indicators of chemical products, technological processes and equipment of chemical production. - ability to organize and manage chemical and technological processes in industrial production and research laboratories, taking into account social, economic and environmental aspects.
Learning outcomes: • to know the role of industrial catalysis in organic synthesis; • to know the basic characteristics and uses of metalocomplex catalysts; • to know the basic industrial heterogeneous catalysts used in organic synthesis; • to know the fundamentals of preparation of heterogeneous catalysts and basic equipment, which must be applied; • to be able to prepare a catalyst for a given recipe and technique; • to be able to explore the physical and chemical characteristics of catalysts to determine the catalytic properties of catalysts and technology. • to be able to compare and choose the most effective catalysts for a particular process.

Summary of the subject: The discipline considers the classification of catalytic reactions, describes the modern provisions of the theory of catalysis, presents the features of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, describes the features and mechanism of metal-complex catalysis, considers the technological aspects of heterogeneous catalysis, in particular the features of operation and preparation of heterogeneous catalysts, presents technological schemes for the preparation of a number of heterogeneous catalysts and characteristics of equipment for the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts, and also considers the main processes of organic synthesis. As a result of studying this discipline, the student acquires the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to organize the activities of organic synthesis enterprises and solve practical problems to ensure the quality of target products of organic synthesis.
Опис: Introduction. Classification of catalytic reactions. The main provisions of catalysis. Theories of catalysis. Homogeneous catalysis. Heterogeneous catalysis. Technological aspects of heterogeneous catalysis. The basics technology of preparation of heterogeneous catalysts. Operation of heterogeneous catalysts. Equipment for the production of heterogeneous catalysts. Major industrial catalytic processes of organic synthesis
Assessment methods and criteria: The main methods of knowledge diagnostics are: current control (CC) and semester control (SC), which is carried out on the basis of the educational material, the volume of which is determined by the work program of the discipline for the semester. Current control is carried out to check the level of mastery of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of the student. PC is conducted in the form of writing an essay. Semester control is conducted in the form of an examination (EC). The exam is a form of SC of the student's learning outcomes in the discipline for the semester.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points ("excellent") - is given for a high level of knowledge of the educational material, the ability to analyze the phenomena studied in their interconnection and development, clearly, concisely, logically, consistently answer the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 87-80 points ("very good") - is assigned for knowledge of the educational material above the average level, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 79-71 points ("good") - is assigned for a generally correct understanding of the educational material, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 70 -61 points ("mediocre") - is assigned for mediocre knowledge of the educational material, few reasoned answers, weak application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 60-50 points ("satisfactory") - is assigned for poor knowledge of the educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for poor application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 49-26 points ("unsatisfactory" with the possibility of repeating the semester control) - is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 25-00 points ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) - is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the course material, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate in solving practical problems, ignorance of the basic fundamental provisions.
